Building Surveyor

The Property Operational Team are looking for an experienced property maintenance/ surveying professional to assist in the delivery of maintenance and minor works programmes for a diverse corporate property estate. Key skills will include the production of condition surveys, CAD plans, programme and cost estimates, feasibility studies, option appraisals, budget forecasts and project management to assist the Council’s Maintenance Strategy.

The candidate will require a thorough knowledge of building fabric, codes of practice and good understanding of defect diagnosis for maintaining buildings and assets. This proficiency extends to health and safety practices and statutory requirements, competent in the production of specifications and tendering documents, familiarity with contract administration and conversant with the NEC form of contract. The candidate must possess good organisational and communication skills both orally and in writing.

Primary duties will include assistance with the development of a corporate property maintenance strategy, advising on property condition, backlog maintenance and prioritisation of risk. This will involve the delivery of surveys, development of maintenance programmes for Fabric, mechanical and electrical work loads. The provision of programme management reports to assist costs and delivery targets and future planning and phasing of works programmes.

Relevant professional or technical qualification and membership of a relevant professional body or equivalent experience is required.
