Technical Officer

I am recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority based in Lancashire who are seeking to make the temporary appointment of a Technical Officer until April 2019, this role could have a possible extension for the right individual.

Your new company
A Local Authority based in Lancashire with a department specifically focused on enforcement of housing standards who carry out inspections of housing conditions owned by private landlords.

Your new role
You will be required to carry out detailed inspections of dwellings in connection with assessments of housing conditions, including the voluntary landlord accreditation scheme and the enforcement of housing standards. A large proportion of your role will be visiting clients in their homes in order to advise about repairs, to prepare Schedules of Work, discuss alternative solutions etc. to determine the most satisfactory course of action. From there you will be responsible for preparing schedules of defects and recommend priorities and work with the landlord to ensure they reach accreditation standard. In consultation with the Project Officer, arrange for instructions to be given to contractors and monitor the implementation of improvement and repair works through to Practical Completion and monitor contractor performance as required. You will be required to provide verbal and written summaries of work and reports to the Project Officer and statutory bodies.

What you'll need to succeed
To complete this role you must have the HHSRS qualification and previous experience in a similar role.
