Numbering over 130 Surveyors across seven UK offices, this organisation have been a highly regarded practice for the last 40 years, and have grown to become one of the largest independent practices of their kind, boasting a network of strategically placed hubs throughout England.

Your new company is a multi-disciplinary consultancy offering expert advice and services surrounding the built environment. They pride themselves on implementing the highest standards of competence and customer service with every client and every project.

The business are now searching for an experienced graduate surveyor to co-manage an important residential scheme for a high profile client, and assist on a variety of commercial accounts.

Your new role

Your new role will be a 50:50 split of residential and commercial surveying, as the business are committed to providing the successful applicant with a thorough and varied experience to put towards their APC diary and assessment.

you will focus half of your time on an expansive residential improvement scheme, carrying out post work inspections on roof repairs, window and door replacements and insulation upgrades to properties within the Heathrow airport fly-zone, reporting on works carried out, quality control, as well as costs and budgets for improvements and repairs.

You will carry out site inspections with contractors and subcontractors, highlighting any deviations or inconsistencies, and challenging these with contractors.

The other 50% of your workload and commitments will involve assisting the commercial Building Surveying team in a variety of professional surveying work for clients such as M&G investments, Portman Estate & UGLE, with responsibilities including:

  • Contract administration
  • Surveys and schedules of condition
  • Technical due diligence
  • Dilapidations
  • Building Pathology
  • Due diligence services
  • Specification/maintenance management
  • PPM, RCA's and licences to alter
  • Working to complete APC competencies



What you'll need to succeed

In order to succeed in this role you will need to have completed an RICS accredited degree in Building Surveying, and will need to have a minimum of a years' experience in a graduate building surveying position.

you will need to be able to work independently when carrying out post works inspections and will need to be confident and assertive in your attitude, as you will need to liaise, negotiate and reach agreements with appointed contractors.

You will need to be a competent communicator, both verbally and in writing, as you will be in regular contact with landlords, tenants, stakeholders, contractors and surveying professionals, and will need to come across credibly and professionally.

You will need to be well organised as you will be involved in multiple projects simultaneously, in various locations across Surrey, Middlesex and West London.
