Support Worker Opportunity in Abingdon for a temporary to permanent contract

You will be working for a supported housing organisation who focuses on a wide range of service users with various needs including mental health, domestic violence and homelessness.
Your new role
As a support worker you will provide a high quality support service to service users in order to help them sustain residencies and move on to independent living. You will be working on an ongoing temporary contract with the potential to go permanent if you get on well with the role.You will be working on a full time basis (37.5 hours per week). As a support worker you will work directly with clients in Bristol and in the community, to address barriers towards independent living working with service users with complex needs including homelessness, mental health, domestic violence, substance abuse. As a support worker you will support service users with financial capability, life and tenancy skills, rent arrears and debt management as well as offenders reentering society. You will work proactively to engage clients with the association's services and meet the conditions of their support and housing agreements. Furthermore as a support worker you will assist clients to complete benefit, grant and other appropriate forms and applications.
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful support worker you will need working knowledge in supported housing particularly working with mental health and complex needs.To be a successful support worker you will need to have excellent communication skills as well as be able to work with challenging behaviours and promote independence. Above all you must be passionate and willing to make a difference to vulnerable service users' lives.
