Long-term Temporary to Permanent FM Site Manager Role at Wayland Prison, Griston, Thetford.

Your new company

GFSL has been created to maintain the delivery of the prison Facilities Management (FM) services such as cleaning, reactive maintenance, landscaping and planned building repair work to 50 prisons across Greater London, South East, East and South West of England. The priority for the organisation is professional and effective service delivery to ensure essential repairs and maintenance are carried out in a timely manner to ensure the Health and Safety of staff and prisoners.

Your new role

This role will be based at Wayland Prison in Griston, Thetford. The successful applicant will report to the Project Manager and Regional Project Lead, and be responsible for monitoring and delivery of projects works, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, to budget, and to the required quality. Pro-actively delivering and wherever possible exceeding, the agreed objectives of both GFSL and the Client by leading a delivery team (including subcontractors, suppliers and on-site engineering team) in the monitoring and delivery of an integrated design, procurement and construction programme.

This is an active and visible role requiring excellent customer relationship and supplier management skills. Working as part of a team within the business, the Site Manager will be expected to positively contribute to the performance of the business by engendering a culture of customer care. The post holder may be asked to deputise for a Cluster Manager / Operations Director as required.

What you'll need to succeed

▪ Have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
▪ Ability to communicate to all stakeholders clearly and effectively
▪ Excellent attention to detail and good time management
▪ Good understanding of construction work and processes
▪ Ability to plan ahead and multi task
▪ Exceptional telephone manner and attitude towards customers and clients.
▪ Strong IT skills with knowledge of programmes such as Excel and Word.
▪ A team player
▪ Strong experience of working within a construction supervisory role
▪ Hold full UK driving license
▪ Previous experience of working with the Prisons, the Home Office and Ministry of Justice would be desirable but not essential
▪ The ability to obtain security clearance including CTC / DBS / HMPPS
