Contracts Manager (Works Department)
Winchester College seeks to appoint a Contracts Manager for the Works Department.
The Works Department of Winchester College is a valued and respected support service at the very heart of the school with a reputation for excellent quality and friendly staff. However, in order to meet increasing demands, the College is currently seeking to modernise this department.
As Head of Department, the new Works Manager will occupy a pivotal role. Candidates will ideally have both experience in the implementation of building works, and the personality and drive to effect changes inside a trades-based organisation. This appointment offers the right candidate the opportunity not just to work in and support one of the most prestigious schools in the country, but also, while doing so, to help shape the future of its Works Department.
Currently the annual budget for the Works Department is c £3-4m, including reactive and planned maintenance. External contractors are used for individual capital projects.
The successful applicant will be supported within the Works Dept by the Services and Energy Manager and by the General Foreman.
