Chartered Building Surveyor
Your new role
Based in the company's Guildford head office, you will be responsible for carrying out residential building surveys
for private domestic clients.
You will assess properties to identify existing defects,compile written reports on surveys and produce cost estimates for rectification or repairs on noted defects.
You will communicate with clients regularly, responding to queries and providing professional advice via phone and email as well as in person.
General surveying responsibilities will involve: producing schedules of condition or dilapidations, carrying out party wall surveys, producing reports on specific defects & managing building projects.
Business development will also be a crucial part of this role, by building strong client relationships, and securing new business or retaining existing clients, you will be a key player in the company's plans for expansion.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in your application, you will need a minimum of 3 years' professional building surveying experience, and as a minimum an associate member of the RICS (Ideally you will be a full member)
as a strong understanding of property defects, planning regulations, and cost assessments, as well as experience in party wall matters will be required in order to fulfil the role.
You will need to be proactive and self-motivated as you will be managing your own clients, excellent time management skills are also essential as you will be responsible for managing your own calendar and scheduling.
Strong practical knowledge of software packages such as MS Office and photo editing software (Adobe Photoshop) will be required.
One of the fundamentals of this role involves the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. A track record of strong communication and relationship building will be vital in managing client relationships.
You will need a fully valid UK driver's license as you will need to be able to travel to sites.
