Hays are working in partnership with a global multi-disciplinary construction consultancy to recruit an Associate Director Quantity Surveyor based in Belfast to support in business growth. As their Belfast Cost Management Business Unit continues to grow, with a specific growth demand within the Infrastructure sector (Water, Power, Highways, Environment) our client has successfully secured positions with many high profile clients and some key local projects and programs in the industry.
Your new role
As Associate Director, you will be part of an exciting new team supporting us to successfully manage and deliver various capital projects across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and the wider global business. The role will cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception / business case through to completion / commissioning. The role will include management of programmes, of all aspects of cost control / audit procedures, preparation estimates & tender documentation through the feasibility, design and procurement processes and onto the site delivery / commissioning phase.
What you'll need to succeed
You must have experience of delivering technically complex projects in the Sectors highlighted above from inception to completion. Cost Management experience in the Water Sector would be preferred. You should possess the skills and experience to actively support the internal team and manage more junior staff along with the ability to develop long term relationships with the team and effectively balance people and processes. Minimum Requirements : Good understanding of contracts with particular emphasis on the NEC suite of contracts / Experience of working in another comparable consultancy environment, or within a client organisation would be preferable / Clean driving licence and car ownership / Good understanding of project Governance audit and procurement processes. Preferred Qualifications : Chartered status, Degree status, Professionally Qualified, post qualification experience.
