For this job, one of my clients require a Development Surveyor to join their expanding residential team in Perth. This national practice manages approximately half a million acres of Rural Property for a range of clients across the North of Scotland. The Residential Development team provides a comprehensive consultancy service, buying, selling, promoting and advising on residential development land for landowners and developers across Scotland working closely with our planning team.
Your new role
You will assist in the execution of instructions for the Residential Development Team. Work will include valuation, site disposals, negotiation of option agreements, acquisitions, appraisal, and report writing on behalf of developers, landowners, corporate and institutional clients. A clear understanding of the valuation principles and statutory planning process will be required to be able to undertake this role. The post will include working closely with Rural and Planning professional within the organisation.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience within the Residential Development sector and ideally be a Chartered Surveyor or RTPI planner with the Surveying experience required to work in a fee earning environment. Those Surveyors working through their APC will also be considered. A good understanding of turnover/profit and gross margin would be ideal along with experience identifying and winning business to maximise fee earning potential. The ideal candidate will come from a Surveying Practice background, however, experience working for developers will also be considered. You must be dynamic and eager to get deals over the line whilst representing the client at all times.
