Support Worker needed in Bristol for an ongoing part time temporary contract
Your new company
You will be working for a supported housing organisation who focuses on supporting young people with a wide range of complex needs. You will joining an organisation who promotes and develops their staff from within whilst focusing on supporting vulnerable service users towards independence.
Your new role
As a support worker you will be working on a part time (18.5 hours per week) basis in Bristol. As a support worker you will be focusing on providing a co-ordinated package of emotional and practical support, advice and advocacy to female or male survivors of domestic violence and their children. This role involves empowering survivors to increase their options, make positive choices/decisions, increase their confidence, safety and recovery. As a support worker you will be providing support to enable survivors to safely maintain their current accommodation, access welfare benefits, legal advice, alternative housing and support services. As a support worker you will maintain an effective support service with the aim of enabling the survivor and their children to develop the skills and resources necessary to move on and maintain independence and self reliance.
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful support worker you must have working knowledge in housing providing support and advice to vulnerable people who have gone through domestic violence.To be a successful support worker you must have previous experience in working with complex needs and be able to advocate and promote independence. This role is community based so a driving license and access to a car is essential. Most importantly you must be focused to make a difference, being able to promote and communicate effectively.
