Lift Contract Engineer

You will be working for a respected London Borough and specifically within the department dealing with the lifts and escalators across their estate.
Your new role
You will be employed to act as primary lead on the lift servicing, repair and refurbishment contract with the long term service delivery partner. To deliver a customer-oriented programme of lift and electrical engineering improvements, major repairs and cyclical maintenance to Council tenants and leaseholders in the Borough, ensuring value for money and performance against targets.
It will be critical that you ensure the execution of the works complies with Statutory requirements, Council Standing Orders, Health and Safety requirements, and pursues the Council's Environmental policies for saving energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in the role you will have a wealth of experience within the lift industry that is supported by a recognised lift qualification be it City & Guilds, HNC, HND or similar. You will be extremely hard working and be experienced and excel at working in a customer/client facing environment as this will be critical in being successful. Your experience of working in a customer service organisation providing a service to members of the public consistently and sensitively, according to their needs and customer care standards is a key element to this role. It is also extremely important that you possess a sound knowledge of the statutory and contract law framework within which a housing technical organisation works in addition to a sound knowledge of current and appropriate legislation with regard to lift and electrical works and health and safety, specification writing, design, forms of contract and contract procedures. Extensive experience of electrical maintenance in buildings with specific, detailed and extensive, experience of passenger lifts service and repair is a must.
What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a competitive basic salary of £39,930 per annum with opportunity to work overtime at times. Additionally you will receive a generous pension and work a 36 hour working week with a large holiday entitlement. The role is a Monday to Friday role predominantly with core hours of 10am to 3pm.
