As the leading agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit a cleaner for HMP Huntercombe Prison. This is a long-term temporary contract.
Your new role
This cleaning role involves working within a unique working environment with a strong sense of team working. Always in demand, you could benefit from long-term contracts and there is also potential, once trained, to work in other prisons both locally and nationally.
You will be responsible for maintaining the general cleanliness of all areas of the prison, including staff buildings, wings and cells..Duties may include using cleaning machinery, mopping of floors, vacuuming, cleaning surfaces, toilet and shower blocks etc.
What you'll need to succeed
Must have previous cleaning experience of at least two years is required, prison work experience is desirable but not essential. The nature of the role requires applicants to be security conscious and able to challenge potential risk. You must be reliable, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. All applicants are subject to HM Prison Service Clearance procedure which includes a DBS check. You must hold a valid passport or birth certificate and photo driving licence in your current address. Applicants must also be able to provide details of two satisfactory references, at least one from an ex-employer.
