Housing Officer needed in Bridgwater for a 13 month fixed term contract

Your new role
As a housing officer you will be working on a 13 month fixed term contract in Bridgwater. You will be covering a patch of properties working with tenancy management, rent arrears and income collection. As a housing officer you will ensure that tenants pay their rent and keep to the tenancy agreement in line with statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations, preparing cases for court and attending legal proceedings where necessary. You will ensure all housing management functions within the patch are delivered sensitively, effectively and professionally including making sure property inspections are regular and meaningful, mutual exchanges are progressed smoothly, issues like anti-social behaviour or neighbour disputes are tackled effectively and playing a key role in ensuring property improvement programmes are delivered in a way that is sensitive to tenants' needs.
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful housing officer working experience in the same or similar role is essential. You must be able to drive as you will be covering a large patch of properties. You must be able to carry out lone working as well as be part of the wider team. As a housing officer you must have strong communication skills and be able to deal with challenging behaviours. Most importantly you must be passionate about the making difference to tenant's lives.
