Part Time Income Officer needed for a permanent role in Swindon

Your new role

As an income officer you will working on a part time (18.5 hours) permanent basis in Swindon. You will provide a comprehensive rent collection service to your organisation's tenants, you will also provide basic welfare benefit and money advice to help residents manage their money and build resilience by identifying the opportunities for tenants to work. As an income officer you will be required to undertake a variety of tasks ranging from negotiating payment arrangements with tenants to clear outstanding accounts, working with support agencies to help tenants sustain their tenancies, preparing for court cases and applications for court. You will also be expected to attend court and undertake home visits.

What you'll need to succeed

To be a successful income officer it is essential you have experience in income management or debt recovery/collection (preferably in a social housing environment), excellent communication and customer service skills and a working knowledge of welfare benefits. You will also demonstrate initiative, flexibility and tenacity and have competent IT skills. As a successful Income Officer will be required to prioritise your workload and work efficiently whilst providing a high standard of customer care at all times and should possess excellent numerical and organisational skills.You will be required to travel in this role and therefore having a car and full driving license is essential.
