In 2019, Forestry England celebrated 100 years of forestry, and are now England’s largest landowner, looking after over 1500 forests. They deliver internationally renowned research in sustainable forestry and help other landowners make their woodlands more productive, better for wildlife, and prepared for the challenges of a changing climate. You will ideally be based in their Mansfield office, however they are happy to base people out of their Cannock office.
You will work as an Estates Works Supervisor, working in the Estates department reporting to the district building surveyor and supporting the wider Estates team, leading on reactive and planned maintenance work. You will ensure that all buildings within your district are statutory compliant. You will plan, specify and supervise maintenance, repair and improve buildings to the correct timescales, statutory compliance and business requirements. You will look after the maintenance of the built estate, as well as identifying any issues that may occur. You will also carry out building inspection reports and assist the local building managers.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a higher national equivalent in construction or similar discipline, as well as a full UK driving licence. Though not beneficial, it is desirable to have experience in planning and supervising building maintenance works for rural locations.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive basic salary, in the range of £23,687 to £25,002, as well as a local government pension and excellent benefits and work life balance. You will work in a fun and friendly environment.
