Permanent Repairs Surveyor job in Hull with local travel


Would you like to work for a successful local housing association with a rich heritage and passion for providing quality housing and services for people in later life? Due to an internal promotion a well established housing association are looking for a Repairs Surveyor to join them to deliver excellent customer service to their residents.

Key responsibilities include:-

• Contributing to the repairs and maintenance programme for the association.
• Contributing to the delivery of the cyclical works programmes for the association.
• Carry out pre and post inspections of routine repairs, maintenance, cyclical works and potential insurance works as required.
• Leading on the Grounds maintenance contract.
• Carrying out stock condition surveys.
• Ensuring our agents and contractors are aware of the statutory framework and auditing the work to ensure it complies.
• Undertaking void property inspections. Responsible for updating stock condition information, preparing schedules of work / specifications and ensuring works are undertaken within pre-determined limits.
• Liaising with local authorities and residents and providing advice, updates and support on repairs and maintenance works.

The ideal candidate will have:-

• Qualification in Construction / Building Studies with over 3 years' relevant experience.
• Health & Safety related qualification (IOSH) is desirable but not essential.
• Good knowledge of building practice to enable defect identification and production of specifications.
• Experience of project management including maintaining a budget.
• A strong desire to deliver and maintain excellent customer service.
• Excellent working knowledge and experience of both Microsoft packages and a customer management information database (e.g. Kypera)
• A confident decision maker with demonstrable commercial awareness and the ability to build good working relationships with residents, contractors and staff.
• Own vehicle and a clean driving license is essential for this role.
