To help deliver this ambition the Estates team need to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor. 

Your New Role 
Providing a full range of pre and post contract quantity surveying services including cost consultancy to both Design and Maintenance services across a mixed-use estate portfolio of research and teaching facilities, student residences, social and hospitality space, sports facilities and commercial space. The role holder will be required to travel between university sites (Stafford, Lichfield and Shrewsbury) on occasions, however the position will predominantly be based at the Stoke campus.

Experience Required 
A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying and a professional qualification (e.g. RICS) is essential for the position. In addition to this, the successful Quantity Surveyor must have in depth experience in a similar role and be fully competent in project management, budget management and construction procurement, preferably within a large public / private sector organisation. 

Extensive knowledge of contract administration, NEC Form of Contract, JCT Design and Build and Minor Works Forms of Contract are essential.

About You
You will be able to prioritise complex and often conflicting project demands ensuring appropriate risk management techniques are implemented, as well as the ability to communicate complex information to a range of audiences and stakeholders effectively using a variety of mediums. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels, both internally and externally and the ability to analyse a problem and present a sound, customer focussed solution using a flexible, creative and change-orientated approach. Finally, you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the University’s strategic plan and a commitment to the University values.
