To help deliver this ambition the Estates team need to recruit Project Manager. 

Your New Role 
You will provide internal University project management & delivery service from inception to completion, working with in external Contractors & Construction Consultants on multiple projects ranging in value. You will be expected to take responsibility for the day to day management of discrete projects to act as the University’s Client Representative. You will deliver to the standards required by the University in a manner that provides best value for money, minimising disruption to academic delivery & compromise of the customer facing University buildings & landscape. You will also engage with key internal & external Stakeholders as required to ensure communication, management of aspirations & smooth handover to end users.

The role holder will be required to travel between university sites (Stafford, Lichfield and Shrewsbury) on occasions, however the position will predominantly be based at the Stoke campus.

Experience Required
You will be a Qualified construction professional – either Chartered Building Surveyor (membership RICS), Architectural Technologist (membership of CIAT), or Architect (ARB registers with optional membership of RIBA) with experience of Managing numerous and complex refurbishment and maintenance projects within tight timescales. You will also have experience managing project teams from inception through to completion, producing good quality, innovative sustainable and cost effective design solutions. Finally you will have a thorough practical understanding of construction contracts and administration through all stages of the project life cycle, including the ability to prepare detailed schedule/scope of works and coordinated tender documentation.

About You 
You will have the ability to prioritise complex and often conflicting project demands ensuring appropriate risk management techniques are implemented. You will have the ability to communicate complex information to a range of audiences and stakeholders effectively using a variety of mediums. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels, both internally and externally. Finally, you will have Excellent organisational skills with experience of managing multiple programmes of work with competing deadlines and challenging budgets.
