Your new role
Your will play a key role in the roll-out of a substantial project for Heathrow airport, the company's biggest client.
You will be involved in the Heathrow Community Scheme, which centres around the roll-out of improvements and upgrades to residential properties and housing within the airport vicinity, with the goal of significantly reducing noise pollution to surrounding properties.
Key responsibilities and duties for this role are as follows:
- Undertaking specification compliance audits of completed installations to residential properties
- Undertaking financial checks of contractors' submitted applications for payment against an agreed schedule of rates
- Maintaining accurate expenditure schedules
- Certifying payments
- Liaising with client's financial team
- Attending and chair progress meetings attended by contractor/client representative
- Sending out minutes and implementing actions
What you'll need to succeed
for this role you will need a solid Building Surveying foundation, preferably having completed a degree or Diploma in Building Surveying or a related topic, and you will need a good eye for identifying defects.
Prior Residential Surveying experience would be a bonus, and a candidate with Housing Association experience would be positive.
you will need strong report writing ability as you will be required to take minutes and compile specific reports relating to defects and work required.
You will need strong excel skills and a good knowledge of building costs as you will be required to update financial documents and spreadsheets.
You will need excellent communication skills and be able to stay calm and act professionally under pressure, as this is a fast paced role which will involve you liaising with multiple contractors, homeowners, landlords, and tenants on regular basis.
You will need a valid UK drivers license and access to a vehicle which is insured for business use, as you will be required to drive from site to site.

In return you will receive a competitive salary based on your experience, which is currently bench-marked at £35-40K per annum. You will also receive a generous car allowance of £5000 in addition to this.
The business offers a fee related bonus scheme, and you will be provided with a business mobile for day to day use. You will benefit from private medical insurance after 12 months in the role, as well as personal accident insurance. The business offers 25 days holiday a year plus bank holidays.
