Your new company
This Public Sector organisation are currently in the process of implementing a Fire Safety programme of works covering both residential and commercial properties. They are looking to recruit a Fire Safety Operations Manager to take the lead in delivering the overall programme of works within the Central London area. This is a large organisation with a number of properties based in London, which includes: Residential Estates, Street properties, Schools and Office blocks.
This is a long-term contract role outside of IR35 where you will have full responsibility to deliver the numerous projects all related to Fire Safety. This is a high profile challenging job which will require you, as the successful candidate to handle multiple projects which need to be delivered on time and budget.
Your new role
There are a number of projects that need delivering which include:
* Door replacement programme.
* Fire alarm installation programme.
* Follow up LFB deficiency notices and manage relevant work.
* Manage ad hoc fire related programme.
The Key Responsibilities will include:
* Develop and deliver a planned programme of FRA remedial works on time and to budget.
* Performance management of contractors and escalation of issues to the Head of Fire Safety.
* Initiate and implement quality control systems.
* Setting resident communication strategies in place and monitoring compliance by contractors.
As the successful candidate it is essential that you have experience of delivering Fire Safety programmes as listed above. This is a high profile job which will require you to "hit the ground running" so it is essential that you have managed and delivered the associated projects. The job will include liaising with external and internal stakeholders, contractors, London Fire Brigade, building managers, tenant organisations etc. You will need to be highly organised and work well under pressure and be able to handle challenging situations. Good communication and presentation skills are essential as well as other standard IT skills. Strong influence and negotiating skills are also requirements of the job. A housing background would be useful but not essential for the job. Although no specific qualifications are required, as the successful candidate the organisation will expect you to have relevant qualifications in Fire Safety and Building Management.
