Senior Quantity Surveyor
Your new company
A job has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a leading main contractor specialising in new build, D&B, refurbishment and fit-out works across Kent and the South East. Due to new tender approvals, so an increased work load, they now require a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based in their Mid Kent office. Project examples consist of hospitals, universities, care homes, schools and high-end residential works.
With an annual turnover of just over £40m and with project values typically ranging between £500k - £10m, this organisation are very stable and have a long list of works being undertaken and a strong order book for the next 12 months. As a new addition, you will sit in a team of 4 other Senior Quantity Surveyors of varied experience, you will be a one of the points of call for junior surveyors and reporting in to a Commercial Director.
Your new role
You will be responsible for managing all costs related to live projects, seeking to minimise costs, enhance value for money and achieve the required standards for quality. You will also be tasked with; procuring subcontractors and materials and manage the supply chain, liaising closely with site and project managers to ensure maximum efficiency of working methods and material procurement, managing price variations and submit valuations, agreeing final accounts, assist where required in the tendering process.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to have proven experience within a Quantity Surveyor role within a main contractor environment, ideally with experience of healthcare and education sectors, working on projects with contract values of up to but not limited to £10 million.
What you'll get in return
In return as the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you can expect a salary of up to £70k, 23 days holidays + Bank Holidays as well as other benefits.
