Your new role
Investigate and determine the appropriate course of action on reported infringements of planning law and regulations. Investigate history of sites and buildings. Refer to files and the electoral roll. Make site visits, refer to plans and check measurements. Advise on infringements taking place on site. Ensure that the infringements cease or advise on procedure for obtaining planning permission.Investigate and interview people under caution using police and criminal evidence (PACE).Negotiate with complainants and persons in breach of planning control, receive and investigate all complaints regarding alleged breaches of planning.
What you'll need to succeed
Strong communication skills to present clear ideas and effective reports. The ability to plan, manage and monitor projects including the ability to act on own initiative and meet deadlines. A relevant qualification in Town Planning which supports membership of the RTPI with good experience in planning.
