Building surveyor to carry out inspections on both residential and corporate properties.
Your new company
Based in East London this public sector organisation is currently looking to recruit a Building Surveyor to join their Capital Works delivery team.
The team manages projects ranging from small works to multi-million pound refurbishments primarily to their housing stock however they also manage non-residential projects. Offices are based close to local bus and train stations making this a very commutable location.
Your new role
As the Building Surveyor you will be responsible for carrying out detailed surveys of the properties which are being sold, bought, or adapted/modified. As the surveyor you will also review the condition of units when the occupant has left/plans to leave to inform repairs (dilapidation's) calculations. You will contribute to the creation and maintenance of a detailed database listing each property and provide advice and insights relating to the quality of properties that have been inspected. Carry out structural surveys and prepare schedules of condition and dilapidation assessments for defined properties and buildings.
- Investigate building defects, focussing on structural issues and make recommendations to assess and resolve them as appropriate.
- Undertake feasibility studies and provide estimates, drawings and specifications for work which are required.
- Prepare reports and give professional / technical building surveying advice and training for non-technical staff on building related subjects.
What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate you will need to be an experienced and qualified Building Surveyor who can demonstrate knowledge in all the above areas.
Weather you have experience in residential or commercial properties your application will be considered.
Being a Chartered Surveyor would be desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are also essential for this job.
