Quantity surveyor to work on capital works projects in housing and corporate buildings.
Your new company
Based in East London this public sector organisation is currently looking to recruit a Capital Works Quantity Surveyor to join their existing team. The team manages projects ranging from small works to multi-million pound refurbishments primarily to their housing stock. Offices are based close to local bus and train stations making this a very commutable location.
Your new role
You will be required to provide expert advice and analysis to help support to the planning, management and control of capital and revenue budgets which will also include development of cost plans and cash flow forecasts.
You will undertake a range of activities including commercial negotiations, estimates, and contract management.
In addition provide advice of the following issues; feasibility of options, budget estimates, lifecycle costs, tendering and contractual arrangements, payment regimes, insurance arrangements and warranties.
What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate it is essential that you have experience of working on medium to large scale construction projects either for residential or non-residential schemes.
You will need to demonstrate your experience of dealing with internal and external stakeholders, contractors and other construction related bodies or organisations.
Demonstrate your ability to manage multiple projects, costings and to deliver on budget/time.
A relevant qualification is essential and if you are a chartered QS this will enhance your application, however it is not an essential requirement of the job.
