Project Manager job in Chester offering £50000 - £60000 + £5k car working in Facilities management.
Your new company
You will be joining a large established international consultancy who have recently won a new contract with a client based in Chester. Due to the increase in work they are looking for a Project Manager (ideally a quantity surveyor by background) based in Chester (single site). You will be working in the Nuclear sector delivering facilities management projects on site.
Your new role
You will be responsible for managing two project supervisors on a daily basis delivering predominantly minor works Facilities management projects. However you will also liaise with the capital values project team too. You will Liaise with key stakeholders on their requirements and explain feasibility of their schemes to become a trusted advisor. Work with developers, designers and sub contractors to define and document scope(s) of work(s). Develop and understand the full scope of works in line with the desired project business case and in turn outcome. This is to be within agreed budget requirements and required profit margins. Manage, run and draw up tenders on behalf of the customer as required. Carry out full tender analysis of all sub contractor returns. Work within the current CDM process. In the main taking on the role of principle contractor. Identify, reduce and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with the project they are leading. Ensure full compliance with project management policies and procedures. Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) "end to end". Activities to include but not be limited to estimating, business development, quantity surveying, sub contractor management and site manager duties. Manage all P&L for projects. Analyse variances and initiate corrective actions. Value all sub contractor accounts and make application for payments.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have demonstrable experience as a project manager working in the Nuclear sector. You will ideally be a quantity surveyor by background and able to manage projects from specification to closing final accounts. You will ideally have a Minimum of 5 years proven Project Management experience in an M&E, FM ,construction sectors and Proven experience of running a P&L. Demonstrable evidence of having managed a team. You will have good Interpersonal and communication skills. Strong influencing skills. Ability to inspire confidence. Excellent financial acumen and commercial awareness.
