This job provides a chance for an architect or technologist to make the break from traditional practice and move in to a client-side role. The role reports in to a Technical Director who trained as an architect before moving in to design management within development.
The technical coordinator acts as the bridge between the design, construction and development. It's your job to find the correct balance of design quality, project programme, cost, 'buildability' and on-site coordination. As it is such a broad role, you will get an enormous amount of exposure to the full development and construction process and get to work with a wide variety of different trades. The kind of people who like these roles are those who like to get out on site and see things built!
There are two main projects that you could work on. The first is a large London regeneration project that is set to run for over a decade. It's the first phase you'd be involved with which is a 150 unit scheme. The second project is 450 units and based in the north home counties. In both cases, you would start your position in the office and then move to a site office at a later stage.
The role would suit either an architect or a technologist who has seen UK projects of a reasonable scale through to site. London project experience would be an advantage.
Starting salary is around £45000. For more experienced hires salary could go to £50 000. A generous benefits package is also on offer to all staff.
Please get in touch if you would like to look in to working for this well respected development company.
