Interim Asset Manager for Out-of-Town Retail Parks - London

Your new company
On behalf of our client, a large international owner, manager and developer, Hays Property & Surveying are seeking an interim Asset Manager (Retail Parks) to cover a maternity leave in their close knit Asset Management team. My client is highly regarded in the world of Real Estate, have Grade-A assets and are a one of the UK's top employers. Reporting to the Director of Retail, this position is vital to my clients continued growth and success in the sector.

Your new role
As the Interim Asset Manager (Retail Parks), you will be responsible for a portfolio of out-of-town retail parks in Southern England. You will be taking on the role of Asset Management only, as you will work closely with the 3rd party managing agents located on site at each property. You will be required to visit each of your properties and be onsite at least once a month, ensuring the pre-agreed business plans for each location are being carried out, delivering KPI's on the leases. Each property will require reforecasting 6 months into this interim posting, which will require you to quickly develop a thorough understanding of each site. You will be responsible for driving the value of your assets, which managing a portfolio which is undergoing some movement in its tenancies. You will also be responsible for Marketing and letting of vacant space within the portfolio, lease renewals / surrenders / rent reviews, agreeing terms with tenants/agents and instructing solicitors and assisting with various tasks within the UK Property Department including participating in the valuations of the UK portfolio.

What you'll need to succeed
As the successful candidate in this competition, you will have 5+ years' experience working as an asset manager on retail assets, preferably on retail warehouses or 'big box' properties will be preferred. Candidates who bring shopping centre or large outlet experience will also be considered. You will have demonstrated a track record of driving value from your properties, working in a small dynamic team of professionals and have experience communicating with all levels in an organization. You will possess your MRICS of FRICS and have 5+ years of PQE.
