Exciting Group Commercial Manager opportunity

Your new company
A reputable house builder in the High Wycombe area are looking for a Group Commercial Manager

Your new role
As Group Commercial Manager you will oversee regional commercial activity, ensuring compliance with group commercial procedures and standards.
The roles main accountabilities will entail;

  • To review land purchase appraisals at various stages as submitted by the regional businesses
  • To check the accuracy of regional monthly valuations, cost and profitability reports
  • To periodically visit and audit sites across all regions to ensure accuracy and adherence to procedures
  • To assist regional commercial teams in resolving issues on current sites
  • Proactively assist regions through mentoring and training of staff
  • To assist with the preparation and delivery of all commercial training
  • Maintain and manage the groups commercial procedures
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of site performance by attending regular meetings with regional teams
  • To provide cost reports within deadlines for Board members
  • Advise on alternative construction methods
  • Attendance at functional forums to provide commercial advice
  • To provide cost reports within deadlines for the Groups Board members


What you'll need to succeed

  • Understanding of land evaluation and purchase processes
  • Understanding of budget preparation, procurement and payment processes
  • Understanding of valuations and cashflows
  • Working knowledge of current Statutory Regulations such VAT and tax
  • Knowledge of standard forms of contract
  • Good technical knowledge of building methods and techniques
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and share new ideas
  • Willingness to travel to regional businesses as and when required
  • Surveying degree or equivalent
  • Strong numeracy & communication skills
  • Experienced in using SiteStream, Land and Build modules preferred
  • Experience of MS Office products and high aptitude of IT competence
  • Ability to understand drawings and plans & relate to financial reports
