Project Manager, Dundee, 6 months, Early stages of business case development, £25+ per hour
Your new company
A new job has arisen with a well-known, national, organisation in Dundee. The design and projects department have a number of key projects at the early stages of business case development. These capital projects range in value from £8m to £4.5m and are business critical to the Property department.
Your new role
You'll work alongside the Project Director, Senior Project Manager and new works team to oversee the second stage of the project. The initial agreement and strategic direction has been approved and you will work through the second stage, outlining the business case. This will require excellent document control, chairing meetings, attending board meetings and a lot of co-ordination. This stage is more about confirming costs whilst working with the design teams both internal and external to review various proposals. This is projected to be complete in 6 months before moving onto the third stage.
What you'll need to succeed
You'll be a Prince 2 practitioner or hold an APM certificate C or D at a minimum. This role is ideally suited to a Project Manager who has experience with capital projects within the Public Sector. Ideally, you'll have a working knowledge of the current Scottish Government guidelines for approval processes and related models of good practice including the Capital Investment Manual. The ideal candidate will come from a Healthcare project management background. My client is not necessarily looking for a construction/contractor Project Manager. This role is more about the development of the initial strategic plan and putting a strong business case together for moving to the 3rd stage which would be to bring in contractors and NEC3 contract management.
What you'll get in return
You'll be given a diverse range of projects to work on up to a value of £8m. You'll work through the Business Case Development stage with a number of projects concurrently. You'll be given a generous hourly rate and excellent working conditions. Minimum hours for this role are 37.5hrs per week.
