Permanent Contract: Full time, 37 hours per week: Grade 7
The Council’s Facilities Management (FM) Team is seeking to appoint a Building Surveyor to strengthen its small team for the provision of a broad range of property related services.
Your broad remit will span contract preparation, design and specifications, contract administration, reactive repairs, building surveys, procurement of works and managing contractors and consultants and potentially project management, where appropriate.
As a member of the FM team you will be helping and supporting other Council Teams and stakeholders in the delivery of FM services across the property portfolio.
This is a varied and interesting position; as a small team the work required of you will be constantly changing so a flexible approach and a willingness to learn and develop your skills and knowledge further is essential. Local government experience is not essential.
You will be articulate and an effective communicator, able to guide and influence the delivery of our services at all client levels, together with the ability to use current IT systems including AutoCAD.
You will have a minimum of a RICS or CIOB accredited degree in Building Surveying and relevant experience. Support will be given to achieve professional status where required.
