I am currently representing a vibrant consultancy based in the heart of London who have an opportunity for an ambitious Principal Highways Engineer to join their growing team.This consultancy is an award-winning professional services firm operating from more than 50 locations across the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The office undertakes a wide variety of major and challenging infrastructure projects for the private and public sector.The team work on a variety of infrastructure and development projects for a wide variety of public and private sector clients.

Your new role
The role includes providing design support to the wider civil engineering team, leading delivery for projects throughout the entire project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, engineering design support and design coordination, contract management, S38/278/104 adoptions, development management, client and stakeholder liaison, writing reports, and other tasks related to the successful delivery of client requirements.You will be responsible for delivering projects that fulfil clients' needs, ensuring that risks, issues and milestones are always addressed. Providing unrivalled professional and technical advice, plus cost effective, innovative solutions, you'll forge lasting client relationships as an expert who is trusted to deliver high quality projects on time and in budget. As a senior professional you will proactively identify opportunities for new business.

What you'll need to succeed
I am looking for a well-rounded, keen and versatile individual with in-depth post graduate experience in Civil Engineering, including proven highways design, project management and report writing experience. A working knowledge of Civils3D is essential as well as the ability to work section 278 and 38 agreements. The succesful candidate will also need to efficient at negotiations in addition to being able to deal with client interactions. Chartership (ICE, CIHT or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
