Principal Planning Officer
Your new company
Located in one of the most diverse communities in north London, your new company is currently involved in a massive regeneration scheme that will potentially deliver 17000 new homes in addition to 4,000 new jobs into the area. With 29 conservation areas, our client is looking at potentially implementing new transport links into central London and beyond. The workforce is a representation of London's cultural mix and the organisation is incredibly flexible regarding home working. .
Your new role
You will process a wide range of applications as well as provide pre-application advice on relevant planning applications. You will partake in developing policy for planning and coordinate with strategic-level and partner organisations when needed. You will present at committee meetings and other high profile public meetings including hearings and public inquiries. Your work with development partners and their consultant teams will be essential so you will have an understanding of the entire development process.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a degree qualified town planner or RICS equivalent with a proven track record of dealing with a range of major and complex planning applications. You will be on track for or have received full RTPI qualification or other relevant professional body. Your broad understanding of relevant planning regulations and processes will be essential for effective delivery of service. You will have excellent knowledge and understanding of planning policy and practice plus. You will have good IT skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
