Building Surveyor, South Wales, Education Sector, South Wales, Permanent, £32,000 + Public Sector Benefits


Your new company
You new organisation is an award winning education provider based in South Wales who have an extensive Estates and Facilities department are looking for a Building Surveyor to join their busy team in South Wales. The department has responsibility for all of the Estate related services including capital developments, maintenance, health and safety management across its main campuses.

Your new role
You will be a Building Surveyor/Project Manager within the team and you will be in place to undertake planned property maintenance inspections, manage your own portfolio of projects from design, inception through to completion. Projects vary from complexity and value from £15,000 - £300,000.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a technical Building Surveying background in the public or private sector working with commercial properties. Experience in undertaking building condition surveys, preparation of CAD/Revit working drawings and specifications and schedules of work for a wide range of maintenance and building projects. Undertake Planned Property Maintenance Surveyors of the Estate and prepare costed maintenance programmes. You will also be responsible for managing the on-site supervision of building works and issue of instructions ensure that all site work complies with current building legislation. Knowledge of CDM legislation and contract administration for JCT contracts.

Full professional membership is preferred but candidates will also be considered who are progressing with their RICS/MCIOB accreditation or have the relevant degree/experience and the desire to become chartered.
