Surveyor / Valuer Required, Birmingham City Centre, Competitive Salary, Leading Local Authority

Your new company

Due to an internal service redesign, we are now looking to recruit a Surveyor / Valuer to work in the heart of the city centre on a temporary basis until March 2018. Birmingham City Council is the largest single local authority in Europe offering a range of opportunities and regeneration. With Birmingham and the surrounding areas continuing to develop, the council pride itself to make life better for the millions of people who live and work in the city.

Your new role

You will be providing expert opinion and guidance on property management and valuations to all levels of the Council, including commercial properties, leisure centres, farm land and shops. You will be helping the council calculate their asset valuations whilst also representing the council at committees, public meetings, tribunals and court proceedings. You will also be required to assist with the management and supervision of staff caretakers and manual employees as required by the Business Centre Manager.

What you'll need to succeed

You will ideally be a recent RICS qualified or equivalent and have a good working knowledge of valuing commercial properties. Knowledge of working within a Local Authority or Public Sector Housing environment would be highly beneficial. Similarly, the role would be suitable for a trainee surveyor who is completing their chartership. Alternatively, this could be the ideal role for a highly experienced Estate Agent who has experience in working with commercial properties and evaluations. We would also consider a background in Estate Management, General Practice Surveyor or Residential Valuer.

What you'll get in return

You will be working with an employer who is an accredited Investor in People and who are renowned for their supportive culture that can offer flexible working. You will be covering a range of potential projects within the council and have input into lots of different areas, offering a great deal of variety and flexibility. You will be based in their office in the heart of the city centre and paid a competitive salary.
