Corby Borough Council is looking to appoint a Senior Planning Officer in its Development Control Team.
As a senior officer within the Development Control team you will manage major residential large scale schemes, commercial large scale schemes and small majors. You will also assist in the delivery an efficient development management service with a strong customer focus.

As a Senior Planning Officer within the Development Control team you will assist in the development and management of the Unit through continuous service development, the introduction of operational systems, best practice experience and team development.
You will take the lead as a project manager of multi-disciplinary teams for your large scale commercial and residential developments and small majors; you will also assist the Principal Planner and Planning Manager in the management and running of DC team.
This opportunity will suit a well organised, structured confident self-starter, with excellent presentational skills looking to develop their case management experience into a multi-disciplinary project management environment. You will have regular contact and exposure with Senior Management and Lead Members within the Council and sub-regional and national bodies such as the North Northants Joint Planning and Delivery Unit, the HCA and CLG officials.
You will be an enthusiastic committed town planner who can demonstrate leadership qualities, are computer literate, competent using the Microsoft office suite and planning management systems such as IDOX.
Candidates must have a relevant professional qualification in a planning environment; supported by at least five years development management experience. The Council and its Planning Manager actively supports further training that match the needs of the service.
