Gardener - with Driving Licence
Gardener required for initial 6 month contract. Driving Licence required
Your new company
You will be working for a higher educational facility based in Manchester who have a requirement for Gardening staff within their Environmental Services Team.
Your new role
You will carry out a range of grounds maintenance and landscaping duties throughout the University in line with the University procedures and legislative requirements. You will be involved with a range of duties to the limit of training received including but not limited to Grounds Maintenance, Agriculture, Soft Landscaping, Hard Landscaping, Weed Control, Vehicle Safety checks, Equipment Maintenance and Driving. Days = Tuesday to Saturday.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience of grounds maintenance operations with experience of working to tight deadlines, in hazardous areas, with a range of vehicles, with a range of mechanical and specialised equipment and as part of a team. You will have an up to date knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and manual handling techniques. Ideally, you will also be qualified with a relevant Horticultural qualification such as NVQ Level 2 and the safe use of pesticides. A valid, clean driving licence is also necessary for this role due to the duties involved.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive hourly rate working on a 35 hour week. Overtime is paid at time and a half and you will be fully equipped with PPE and any tools and vehicles required to do the job. The role is for an immediate start and will be ongoing subject to performance.
