Your new company
A well-established specialist contractor is working alongside Hays in their recruitment of a Quantity Surveyor. This specialist contractor has completed over 30 successful years in the construction industry throughout the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe. They deliver reputable, specialist services throughout the retail, education & healthcare, leisure & hospitality and commercial sectors. They subcontract into some of the largest contractors in Northern Ireland, and are consistently expanding. Due to this consistent expansion, they now require a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

Your new role
Reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and working closely with the Estimating Team, you will oversee the cost management of projects worth up to £3m. Your main responsibilities will include carrying out flooring measures, chasing up base costs of materials, carrying out unit rate calculations and pulling it together into a priced bill. Other roles include carrying out interim valuations, ordering materials, agreeing final accounts and variations, and producing cost forecasts on projects. On occasions this will require visits to site to check progress and carry out on site measures, although you will be predominantly office based in Northern Ireland with limited UK Travel.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be degree educated in Quantity Surveying, and will have at least one year of experience of producing tender and cost estimates alongside BoQs. You will have a keen eye for detail and ensure that all aspects of your role are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. You will have a general level of proficiency in ICT and demonstrate the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, staff, suppliers and subcontractors.

What you'll get in return
This is a permanent opportunity with an innovative and expanding specialist contractor. There are genuine opportunities for career progression within the company, and the support to make this progression a reality will be provided. The salary for the position will be competitive, with additional company benefits on offer.
