Building Surveyor, Large Award Winning Social Housing Provider, South Wales, Permanent, £30,000 + Benefits
Your new company
Your new company is a Social Housing provider based in South Wales who have a portfolio of over 6,000 homes for their tenants. They are looking a permanent Building Surveyor to join their expanding team and to service increased workload.
Your new role
You will undertake the role of a Building Surveyor, including surveying the housing properties/stock and documenting the findings on your inspections, producing reports in an efficient and uniformed way as well as involvement in new build projects. Your role will involve surveying and identification of defects and the condition through to scheduling and specifying of works. All tools will be given to you to complete the surveys including an electronic tablet to record your findings.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need a relevant qualification either BSc or HND/HNC in Building Surveying. If you are MCIOB or RICS accredited or have an accredited degree and are looking to become fully qualified, this would be seen as an advantage as well as at least 3 years professional experience in a similar role.
You will have knowledge/experience in some/all of the following areas;
- WHQS (Welsh Housing Quality Standards)
- Condition Surveys
- Condition Reports
- Schedules of works
- Experience using a rate card and specifying rates
- Party Wall knowledge - an understanding of the process
- Leasehold consultation
- Ability to liaise with multidisciplinary stakeholders including architects, engineers, flood risk engineers involved in projects
You will have strong communication skills and be a well organised flexible individual, it is important you have a knowledge of social housing providers and an understanding with their aims.
