Technical Architectural Assistant needed near Woking. Up to £24K DOE.
Your new company
Your new company is a property and construction consultancy that have rich and diverse projects, spanning many different building types and sectors. They have projects both in the UK, as well as internationally. They are steadily growing, as they are having a larger demand for expertise in their head office in Surrey. Their projects include leisure, retail, residential and offices, as well as one off private sector jobs.
Your new role
Your new role will be assisting with formulating the brief for clients, as well as communicating the brief effectively to colleagues as required. You will carry out studies and design proposals for review, and cooperate with other members in the design team.
Additionally, you will be providing a practical and methodical approach to solving problems, working to fixed budgets and working within deadlines. You will ensure design proposals conform to the latest building regulations and technical standards.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will have a good level of written and spoken English (including technical terminology). You will have strong verbal and graphic presentation skills, as well as strong design and technical skills.
The successful candidate will be able to assist senior project directors in designs and management tasks, but you will also be able to work independently/part of a team. In addition to this, a successful candidate will have knowledge of UK building regulations, and be able to apply them.
Qualities necessary to succeed are a minimum of 2 years working experience and RIBA Part 1 qualified Architectural Assistant. Proficient in AutoCAD.
Qualities that are advantageous to your success are a Driving license, AutoDesk/Revit work experience, and a UK university degree (undergraduate minimum
The ideal candidate will also need to be an excellent communicator, that can articulate complex issues between the clients and colleagues. You will be ambitious and willing to learn, while demonstrating a high level of diligence and organisation.
