Your new role
They are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer or Senior Structural Engineer to join their Manchester Structures team. Responsible for advising on and the detailed design of structures, to choose the appropriate materials, such as concrete, steel, timber and masonry, to meet design specifications and they are often involved in inspecting the work and advising contractors. Analyse configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure. Produce effective, economical structural designs using all common construction materials. Calculate the pressures, stresses and strains that each component, such as a beam or lintel, will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures. Liaise with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction
What you'll need to succeed
An appropriate degree in structural/civil engineering, At least 5 years post-graduate experience, Preferably chartered (MIStructE or MICE) or working towards becoming chartered within the next 12 months, Excellent oral and written communication skills, MS Office Proficient, A full driving licence
