Exciting opportunity to manage the Production Workshop for one of leading fit-out contractors in the region.
Production Manager vacancy based in Dorset. You will be working for one of the leading shopfitting contractors in the region who produce all their own bespoke joinery in-house. The role is paying a competitive salary up to £50,000 with employment package.
Your new company
Specialist shopfitting contractor who complete an array of projects across multiple sectors within the construction industry (restaurants, care-home, bespoke residential etc.). This business have a strong portfolio working with prestigious clients on projects ranging up to £4 million. The business pride themselves on the quality & innovative approach of their work, working with new and existing clients.
As part of their business model this contractor run their own workshop, which completes bespoke joinery for the projects they complete. With around 45 operatives within the workshop it forms the backbone of the business. The production workshop allows for tailored & unique project design for clients in completing high-end and bespoke finishes on project completion.
Your new role
As Production Manager you will become an integral part of the senior management team. Your responsibilities will include the day to day management of the workshop to ensure the manufacture of bespoke joinery and other unitary. You will allocate work as required to ensure that all joinery requests are completed on time. Ensure that all plant, equipment, tools and machinery are maintained and serviceable. Agree supply chains/accounts for the supply of materials with purchasing. Implementing / improving quality standards and productivity.
Your direct reports include the Workshop Foreman, Machine Shop Manager, Finishing Department, Transport Maintenance, Stores.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in the role you will need to be an experienced works manager with strong organisational skills as you will be responsible for the planning and coordination of all processes involved in the manufacture of bespoke furniture. You will also need to have a strong H&S ethos as you will be responsible for health and safety processes within the workshop.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate successful management of human resources and quality standards, be responsible for writing management reports and analysing production records. As a senior manager you will identify and implement improvements and drive business productivity therefore leadership skills are essential for this role: Effective communication skills with the ability to motivate and enable your workforce are a requirement.

What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum, you will also receive 22 days basic holiday + bank holidays as well as pension scheme. The position does not include a car / allowance as you will be working within the workshop throughout the week. If travel is required this will be expensed by the business.
