Opportunity of employment with exciting & innovative contractor taking on a variety of bespoke contracts.

Contracts Manager position with an innovative contractor who take on bespoke refurbishment & fit-out contracts within the (corporate) leisure & heritage sectors. As Contract Manager you will receive a generous salary as well as employment package.

Your new company
Building Contractor, who have created & implemented a successful business model over the last 25 years. Operating UK wide, the business provide a full-turnkey service completing projects with leading clients within their sector. This includes large, high-end, hospitality groups and leading tier 1 contractors. The projects range from £500,000 - £20 million, typically £3-8 million. The company have a strong team ethic, with great working environment and reward staff with incentives.

Your new role
As Contracts Manager, you will be a site based professional tasked with the overall responsibility for the whole project. On larger sites, you may be in charge or report to the construction Director.

Your duties will include:

  • Discussing plans with architects, surveyors and procurement before building work starts planning work schedules for the jobs, using MS project management software.
  • Preparing the site by hiring staff, installing temporary offices and taking delivery of materials.
  • Working closely with the site workforce and site managers once building is underway monitoring progress, costs and checking quality
  • Making sure the work meets legal requirements and Building Regulations
  • Reporting regularly to the client, Client Services Manager and Construction Director

You would also be the main point of contact for subcontractors. As a senior manager, you could oversee several projects at the same time. Working hours will be 40 hours, Monday to Friday, possibly with some evening or weekend work to meet deadlines.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in the role you will need to be a senior level manager within the construction industry with experience on similar level projects. A HNC/HND or degree in relevant construction field. You will need to have excellent people skills to work with staff at all levels, creative approach to problem solving, ability to motivate your team, excellent organisational and planning skills, the ability to take on responsibility and make decisions, good math's and IT skills, an in-depth knowledge of building methods, awareness of health and safety.
