Senior Project Manager/ Project Manager (Schools Capital Team)

Calderdale Council is seeking to recruit a Senior Project Manager and Project Manager to actively contribute to the development and delivery of a multi-million pound schools Capital Programme.  You will manage capital projects across the school estate from inception to the end of the defects period for major and minor schemes.  You will be joining a new team at an exciting time to deliver new schools and improve existing building stock.  A recent project was a finalist in the Yorkshire LABC awards showing the Councils desire to achieve great outcomes.

The post holder will report to and support the Capital Programme Manager by taking a lead role in delivering a professional service for the Schools Capital Team.  The post holder will be responsible for the successful day to day management on a range of school capital projects including new builds, refurbishment and maintenance work in collaboration with a range of partners and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to agreed specifications and quality expectations, on time and within and budget.

You will need to demonstrate a sound knowledge of the construction industry and preferably experience of design, procurement and project management in a similar role.  Support will be provided in these areas for the right candidates so you can confidently manage new build projects and improvement works.  The post holder must be able to evidence that they have excellent project management skills and that they can demonstrate they have broad and extensive experience in building projects.

A brief description of responsibilities include: Producing accurate and well-structured project documentation including project brief, project initiation document, project plans, project status reports, etc.

If you would like to be a part of an excellent organisation, striving to provide the best, we want to hear from you.  Applications will be considered from those who have demonstrable experience of successful similar project management and delivery of capital projects and hold a relevant qualification.
