Community Development Officer
Community Development Officer needed in Gloucestershire for a temporary contract within a housing association

Your new role
You will be working as a community development officer in the Gloucestershire area on an ongoing temporary basis. You will be working full time (37.5 hours per week). As a development officer you will support and engage tenants in daily activities, encouraging them to be part of the wider community and have a voice within the housing association. You will support and implement the delivery of outcome focused community development opportunities for residents and the wider community. You will be required to provide a range of outcome focused community initiatives and develop partnerships which will aim to improve the quality of life and make a difference to residents and their families. You will focus on developing existing projects as well implementing new projects to the service, putting the tenants within the centre of the project, providing creative and enthusiastic projects to engage your residents.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role previous experience working on projects and activities would be essential. You must have strong knowledge on community engagement and be able to come up with creative ideas to put forward to new projects. This organisation is looking for someone with a track record of working with people from all backgrounds to address disadvantages, working in an inclusive basis. It is essential you have excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of social exclusion. To be successful within this role experience of promoting and organising activities would also be advantageous.
