Headland Archaeology is a company that has grown from its four founder members in 1996 to the largest privately-owned archaeology company in the UK. Headland Archaeology, as part of MOLA Headland Infrastructure, will be a significant delivery partner to the Tier One Contractors undertaking the HS2 Enabling Works over the next 2 – 3 years. Due to this, Headland is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join them on a permanent basis with a salary £40,000-£50,000 + benefits, at their Hereford offices, with on-site visits as appropriate, potentially 1-2 per week.
Your new role
Headland is offering a unique opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work with an archaeological company operating as an integral part of the construction industry. After securing a contract for significant parts of the North and South sections, we would also anticipate a significant role is the central section for HS2 – the largest of the 3. Reporting to the head of contracting, you will manage sub-contractor contracts and applications, NEC contracts, dispute resolution, contract variations, early warnings and compensation events, and assist the Finance Director across our full portfolio of UK projects.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in infrastructure and/or construction projects, with a proven track record of delivering subcontractor packages. Alongside this you will have excellent contractual knowledge, partnered with strong negotiation and communication skills, and a full UK driving license.
What you'll get in return
£40,000-£50,000 + Car hire option or mileage + performance and profit related bonuses + up to 6% pension contribution.
