Head Of Logistics/Supply Chain - Modular Housing - London £80,000 + package
Our client is a Leading US Modular Home builder, in process of establishing their business in the UK. We are supporting them in the recruitment of key hires at this early stage. London based, you will be involved in liaising with the US and International business and setting up process and systems to enable future planned growth. With production planned for January 2018, they will be establishing first factory and distribution centre in the next few months.
As Head of Logistics and Supply Chain you will provide strategic leadership to Modular Housing business from inception through development and expansion stages. You will develop and implement key initiatives to standardise practices and develop their business. Your team will include Sourcing, Product Design, Purchasing, Warehouse and Logistics, Site coordination.
Support the Director of Construction in delivering key supply chain strategic and tactical goals and objectives. Develop and maintain the structure and policies necessary to ensure the optimum supply chain for achieving company objectives. Oversee purchasing strategy, including commodity management, vendor selection, contract management, competitive sourcing and materials planning. Oversee logistics strategy, including warehousing requirements, materials movement, freight management, inventory control methods and safety initiatives. Oversee the preparation and negotiation of all construction and subcontract agreements. Optimize master scheduling, planning, production control, logistics and supply chain processes in order to ensure proper flow of materials throughout the value stream. Drive cost improvements by developing opportunities for material, freight, labour and overhead cost reductions and fully implement changes to achieve results. Drive improvement in on-time delivery, past due backlog, lead-times, and inventory levels through the implementation of world-class materials management processes. Analyse and assess industry and market dynamics on a regular basis to assess cost, material allocation and modern distribution trends.
Degree qualified in supply chain, construction management, engineering or related field. 7+ years' supply chain management experience. Demonstrated experience managing cost performance, supply/demand forecasting, and distribution execution across a variety of product lines from multiple sources. In-depth knowledge of key supply chain/logistics processes and current best practices; Including Reverse Logistics. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; Ability to build a high quality team and provide supervision while maintaining familiarity with pertinent details of each project.
