Barnardo’s utilises a diverse range of buildings from children’s centres and schools to a variety of offices and retail shops. You'll be working largely autonomously across a large geographical region and be accountable for the upkeep of 70-100 diverse facilities.
This will involve liaising with contractors, prioritising and planning workloads and effectively scheduling in proactive and reactive maintenance in conjunction with our Help desk staff. It could involve anything from minor works to overseeing small-scale refurbishments and new shop fit outs. The bigger picture is that you'll be helping to change the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people.
HNC/HND qualified in building, you'll have a proven technical background, able to use CAD and the ability to manage maintenance and small refurbishment projects. You’ll also be a self-starter able to work independently, able to effectively manage and prioritise your workload and build links with a range of internal and external stakeholders/contractors. Experience of managing budgets will also be essential.
