About your role
This entirely desk based Surveying role is about driving a highly effective claims validation and routing process. That means taking referrals from claim handlers, collaborating with and coaching other Desk Surveyors and drawing on your previous experience to make appropriate policy and legal decisions based on the results – keeping the customer up to date with the expectations of their insurance cover throughout. It’s a high volume role with a fast turnaround. So more than just communicating the repudiation of claims to the customer, you’ll also be expected to manage the settlement cost. All in all, you’ll ensure an excellent customer experience at every stage of claims process while adhering to the agreed criteria and technical knowledge of the industry.
Coming from a building surveyor or supervisor role with a recognised HND/HNC qualification, you’ll have applicable field experience within the building industry, as well as strong technical skills and an awareness of buildings pathology. Beyond that, you’ll also know a thing or two about the insurance industry – having honed your excellent commercial skills with a similar, fast-paced and broad-ranging business. First rate communication skills mean you’ll have no problem building rewarding relationships, networking and negotiating with claim handlers, customers and contractors alike.
