We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual, with exceptional construction procurement and QS knowledge, to join our Estates Department, covering both Kew and Wakehurst Place. The Department has a challenging portfolio of work, comprising of an operating budget of £5m, a minor capital programme budget of up to £7.5m and a £35m refurbishment of the Temperate House

Reporting directly to the Head of Estates, you will lead the department’s commercial and cost management to achieve real value for money. This will involve working closely with the Operations Manager and Senior Project Manager to create effective maintenance and FM services.

Your quantity surveying skills will enable you to provide specialist support, both with tenders and contracts and when working as project quantity surveyor on small/medium sized projects.

You will be a member of the RICS/CIOB as a Quantity Surveyor and have extensive proven experience and knowledge of quantity surveying on building/maintenance services tenders/contracts and major capital works. This experience must have been ground in maintenance/FM contracts with a turnover greater than £2m per annum. Excellent leadership skills are essential, along with an understanding of the economics of construction and the ability to plan and monitor budgets.
