Birmingham City University is a large, established university, committed to providing programmes of academic excellence in modern, well-equipped and supportive surroundings. Around 24000 students study at the University, which is based on nine teaching sites across the lively city of Birmingham.

School of Property, Construction and Planning

The School of Property, Construction and Planning has offered surveying courses since 1965 and has a reputation for delivering quality vocational education. We have strong links with professional bodies and business organisations that influence the content, delivery and assessment of the programmes. We offer a rewarding and enriching study experience with confidence, knowing that our graduates are nationally recognised as people who can respond to the pressures of the industry. Many become valued team players and in some cases leaders, always bringing excellent skills, knowledge and problem solving into their chosen industry sector.

The academic staff within the school have diverse academic interests with unique areas of expertise. They all relate to and have links with a large network of employers. This offers many opportunities including work shadowing, industrial placement, stimulating guest lecturers and fantastic post study employment possibilities.

Placement & employment opportunities

All the undergraduate programmes offer the opportunity for work experience either via placement or short term work-based learning. Most courses are offered in both full- and part-time modes and students may change modes during the course of their studies.
